In 1980, Walt Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures built a whole village in the stunning Mellieha for the set of ‘Popeye’, based on E.C. Segar well known character and starring the beloved actor/comedian Robin Williams. An entire bay in Mellieha was transformed into The ‘Sweethaven’ Village – the home of Popeye, which still stands today.

In the shadow of Valletta’s majestic bastions lies Pietà. The coastal village which curves around Marsamuscetto harbour may look unassuming but nestled within its streets lie reminders of a rich and eclectic past. Casa Rocca Piccola is a 16th century palace in the heart of Malta’s capital city. Built in 1580, during the era of the Knights of St John, it is the only privately owned palace open to the public in Valletta. Today, Casa Rocca Piccola is home to the noble Maltese family of the 9th Marquis de Piro, who himself often conducts guided tours of the palace.
